The Technical Business Analyst (BA) is responsible for leading the design and implementation of custom and product strategy-based technical projects. The role involves mapping business requirements to technical solutions and ensuring these align with the client’s business needs. The Technical Business Analyst must be adept at translating business objectives into precise technical specifications, which will guide the development team and other stakeholders. Typical duties and responsibilities

1. Collaborate with both technical and non-technical team members and clients to understand business needs and design appropriate solutions.
2. Lead the design and development of technical project strategies, ensuring alignment with client objectives.
3. Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including business process flows, data models, and detailed functional designs.
4. Provide technical specifications for custom development and system integration projects.
5. Facilitate meetings and discussions, driving consensus and brainstorming solutions.
6. Monitor project progress, manage project timelines, and ensure successful project delivery.
7. Take a leadership role in pre-sales engagements, articulating potential technical solutions to clients.
8. Act as a liaison between the client, development team, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
9. Identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies.

Required skills and experience

• Strong background in technical business analysis, with experience in cloud software solutions (e.g., NetSuite, Intacct, SFDC).
• Proficiency in creating and maintaining technical documentation, including business process models, data models, and functional specifications.
• Experience with cloud solutions and/or relational database systems (RDBMS).
• Basic competence in at least one programming language (e.g., JavaScript, C#).
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proven experience in leading enterprise-level projects with minimal supervision.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, with 2-5 years of consulting experience or related experience.
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally, as needed.

Nice to have/preferred skills and experience (not required)

• Experience in implementing and configuring enterprise systems, such as CRM, PSA, or ERP.
• Familiarity with Software as a Service (SaaS) models.
• Experience working in an agile development environment.
• Leadership skills, including the ability to set deadlines, assign responsibilities, and manage project teams.
• Familiarity with popular project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello) and knowledge of specific methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Lean).
