A Senior Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level network infrastructure while providing strategic technical leadership. Typical duties and responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain complex enterprise network infrastructures, including LAN, WAN, and WLAN systems, while ensuring optimal performance and security.
• Lead and execute network security initiatives, including firewall configurations, VPN implementations, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
• Monitor and optimize network performance through advanced diagnostic tools, implementing necessary adjustments for enhanced efficiency.
• Provide high-level technical guidance and resolve escalated issues from lower support tiers while maintaining system stability.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including detailed network diagrams and standard operating procedures.
• Collaborate with technology vendors and stakeholders to implement business-focused networking solutions.
• Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior network engineers while fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing.
• Plan and execute network capacity improvements and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity.

Required skills and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or related technical field with 10+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering and architecture.
• Demonstrated expertise in implementing and managing enterprise-level networking technologies, including advanced routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and network segmentation.
• Extensive hands-on experience with enterprise network security systems, including next-generation firewalls, IDS/IPS, and DDoS mitigation strategies for at least 5 years.
• Proven experience in designing and maintaining SD-WAN environments utilizing technologies such as Cisco, Citrix SDWAN, and Palo Alto Networks.
• Comprehensive knowledge of network hardware configuration and maintenance, including Cisco, Fortinet, and Juniper platforms.
• Advanced understanding of TCP/IP networking principles, OSI model, and enterprise network architecture best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and mentor junior engineers while maintaining strong cross-functional relationships.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills with proven experience in troubleshooting complex network issues in high-pressure environments.

Nice to have/preferred skills and experience (not required)

• Master’s degree in Network Engineering, Information Security, or related technical field.
• Active high-level certifications such as CCIE, CCNP Enterprise, or equivalent Juniper/Fortinet certifications.
• Advanced expertise in cloud networking technologies including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with network automation and orchestration using Python, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Extensive background in software-defined networking (SDN) and network virtualization technologies.
