We’re looking for a PHP Backend Developer to join a Swiss IT company that creates and grows digital products as a long-term partner, not a vendor. The company develops and maintains complex platforms across aviation, finance, B2B commerce, and recruitment, with all engineering done internally to ensure clear ownership, fast feedback, and high technical quality.

Requirements

checked icon Minimum 3 years of commercial experience with PHP
checked icon Experience with Symfony, Slim, or other PHP frameworks
checked icon At least 3 years of experience working with Linux environments
checked icon Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL
checked icon Experience with message brokers (RabbitMQ or similar)
checked icon Understanding of backend architecture and system integration
checked icon Experience working with Git and participating in code reviews (GitLab preferred)
checked icon English profi ciency suff icient for daily communication with colleagues and project managers

Nice to have

checked icon Commercial experience with Golang
checked icon Experience with Elasticsearch or other full-text search solutions
checked icon Familiarity with confi guration management tools such as SaltStack or Vagrant
checked icon Understanding of frontend tasks, tools, and collaboration workflows
checked icon Experience or strong interest in AI-related solutions

Responsibilities

checked icon Participate in architectural discussions and decisions together with the team
checked icon Write, adapt, and maintain backend code using appropriate technologies and frameworks
checked icon Develop automated tests and follow TDD practices
checked icon Improve and optimize interactions with databases
checked icon Build and maintain system components using RabbitMQ
checked icon Confi gure and maintain full-text search solutions
checked icon Confi gure Linux virtual servers and diagnose production issues
checked icon Participate in code reviews and maintain code quality using GitLab
checked icon Create and maintain clear and up-to-date API documentation
checked icon Collaborate closely with frontend developers to fi nd optimal technical solutions
