Typical duties and responsibilities

• Develop detailed test strategies and methodologies for comprehensive software or hardware testing.
• Execute both functional and non-functional tests to ensure the product meets design specifications.
• Analyze and interpret test data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas requiring further investigation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define quality standards and ensure the product meets customer expectations.
• Write and maintain automated test scripts to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
• Identify and document defects, track them to resolution, and perform regression testing.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, security protocols, and quality assurance standards.
• Stay updated on new testing tools, technologies, and best practices to enhance testing capabilities.

Required skills and experience

• Strong understanding of various testing types (e.g., regression, black-box, white-box, user acceptance testing).
• Experience in developing and executing automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Postman.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#) for automated testing.
• Familiarity with test-driven development (TDD) or behavior-driven development (BDD) frameworks.
• Ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and cases.
• Experience working in agile environments with iterative testing cycles.
• Solid understanding of debugging and root cause analysis to identify and resolve issues.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in a testing or quality assurance role.

Nice to have/preferred skills and experience (not required)

• Experience with mobile application testing, including iOS and Android platforms.
• Familiarity with security testing tools and techniques (e.g., OWASP, penetration testing).
• Knowledge of automated testing frameworks for microservices and APIs.
• Cloud testing experience (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience with robotic process automation (RPA) tools for enhancing test efficiency and coverage.
