General overview of the role

The Swift Developer is responsible for designing and building applications for iOS and macOS platforms using Swift and Objective-C. Typical duties and responsibilities

1. Plan, develop, and maintain applications for iOS and macOS platforms.
2. Monitor app performance, quality, and responsiveness, and implement necessary optimizations.
3. Collaborate with team members to define, prototype, and deliver new features.
4. Identify and resolve bottlenecks, bugs, and other issues in the codebase.
5. Suggest and implement improvements to current development processes.
6. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and best practices to ensure the apps remain competitive and cutting-edge.

Required skills and experience

• Advanced knowledge of Objective-C and Swift programming languages.
• Strong understanding of runtime and key-value observing principles.
• Hands-on experience with Swift protocol-oriented programming.
• Proficiency in functional programming using frameworks such as ReactSwift and RxSwift.
• Expertise in Swift syntax, including optionals, classes, inheritance, initialization, and error handling.
• Experience with Model-View-Controller (MVC) and Model-View-ViewModel (MVVM) architecture.
• Competence in working with Grand Central Dispatch for concurrency.
• Proficiency in version control systems, particularly Git and GitHub.

Nice to have/preferred skills and experience (not required)

• Experience with Apple’s Core Data framework for persistent storage.
• Familiarity with automated testing tools and frameworks like XCTest.
• Understanding of design principles and interface guidelines defined by Apple.
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools.
• Knowledge of SwiftUI for building user interfaces.
• Familiarity with modern deployment practices such as TestFlight and App Store Connect.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and networking in iOS/macOS applications.
• Experience in deploying and managing apps on the App Store.
• Knowledge of performance optimization techniques specific to iOS/macOS development.
