2. Monitor network traffic, detect and respond to security incidents, and conduct regular vulnerability assessments.
3. Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
4. Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security measures into existing systems and applications, including implementing secure coding practices and performing code reviews to prevent vulnerabilities.
5. Conduct security audits and penetration testing to identify and address potential vulnerabilities using tools like Metasploit and OWASP ZAP, and recommend actionable steps to strengthen security defenses.
6. Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies to continuously enhance security practices.
7. Provide technical support and guidance on security-related issues to internal teams and stakeholders.
8. Respond to and manage security incidents, including performing forensic investigations and developing incident reports.
9. Implement and maintain security monitoring tools and technologies, ensuring effective detection and prevention of security breaches.
10. Train employees on security best practices and raise awareness of potential threats and phishing attacks.

Required skills and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience as a Cybersecurity Engineer or a related role.
• Strong understanding of network security, firewall management, and intrusion detection systems.
• Proficiency in security tools and technologies, such as SIEM, antivirus software, and encryption methods.
• Experience with vulnerability assessment and penetration testing tools.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS.
• Familiarity with scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automating security tasks.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to quickly assess complex security threats, identify vulnerabilities, and implement effective solutions to protect the organization’s IT infrastructure from future risks.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities, ensuring clear interaction with teams and translating security concepts into actionable insights.

• Cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or CISM.
• Experience with cloud security practices and technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Knowledge of DevSecOps practices or experience integrating security into DevOps pipelines.
• Experience with security frameworks, such as NIST or ISO 27001.
• Familiarity with incident response and digital forensics.
• Knowledge of advanced persistent threats (APTs) and advanced malware.
• Experience with security automation and orchestration tools.
• Understanding of threat intelligence and risk management practices.
