General overview of the role

As a Cloud Developer, you will be tasked with designing, implementing, and managing scalable cloud platforms and services to support critical business needs. You will work with modern technologies across public cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, and Azure, creating innovative solutions that enable seamless integration and deployment. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will be instrumental in driving cloud adoption, efficiency programs, and high-quality engineering practices.

Typical duties and responsibilities

1. Cloud Platform Development: You will be responsible for architecting, designing, developing, and implementing cloud platforms and services to meet our clients’ requirements.
2. Cloud Infrastructure Automation: Through tools such as Jenkins, Terraform, and scripting languages (Python, GoLang, Bash), you’ll be in charge of automating cloud infrastructure builds and CI/CD pipelines.
3. Kubernetes Support: You will be expected to manage and support containerized platforms like Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) or Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS).
4. Performance Optimization: You have to be able to design scalable, high-performance solutions in addition to conducting failure analysis, API design, and system profiling.
5. Collaboration: Working in a team, you will assist with application migrations, triage cloud issues, and provide support to ensure seamless deployments.

Minimum skills and qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in cloud development or similar engineering roles.
• Proven experience with public cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Hands-on experience in microservices, serverless architectures, and API development.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as GoLang, Python, Java, and JavaScript.
• Reliable knowledge of database systems, both RDBMS and NoSQL.
• Strong background in enterprise-scale applications using frameworks like Spring and Django.
• Familiarity with design principles for distributed systems and critical application components.
• Exceptional problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Preferred skills and qualifications (not required)

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in cloud development or similar engineering roles.
• Industry-recognized certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, or Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• Knowledge of cloud security practices, including IAM policies, data encryption, and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA).
• Experience with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or CloudWatch for monitoring, alerting, and improving application observability.
