Serbia We are hiring a founding QA Engineer to join a real-time security-operations platform team, owning both the automation suite that proves quality across our Vue.js web apps, React Native mobile app, and Django/FastAPI backend, and the release gate that decides what ships. This is a hands-on, automation-first role, you write test code, build regression harnesses, and run load and failure-mode tests, not just author manual test plans.
Requirements
5+ years in QA / test automation for web and/or mobile products (or equivalent depth).
Strong hands-on test automation in JavaScript/TypeScript: E2E with Playwright (web) and Detox or equivalent (mobile).
Python test automation (pytest), our backends are Django and FastAPI; you must be able to write and extend backend integration suites.
Working SQL, verifying pipeline state in PostgreSQL is a daily activity.
API testing experience: REST, JSON payloads, code-based API tests; comfortable reading service logs and network traffic.
Experience testing real-time / event-driven systems (WebSockets/SSE): ordering, reconnection, and state-consistency edge cases.
Solid test design: equivalence classes, boundary/negative cases, writing testable acceptance criteria from requirements.
CI/CD exposure: running suites in pipelines, diagnosing failures, keeping suites green and non-flaky.
Clear, reproducible bug reports; able to communicate risk to product and engineering.
Ownership mindset and comfort operating in a structured, PR-based engineering workflow (SDET-style profile welcome). Nice to have
Load/performance testing (Artillery.io, k6, Locust) and reasoning about latency percentiles under sustained load.
Experience testing operational dashboards / event-heavy products (monitoring, security, logistics, trading).
Multi-tenant SaaS testing (tenant isolation, RBAC verification).
Mobile-specific QA: push notifications, permission flows, foreground/background behavior.
Familiarity with computer-vision / AI event pipelines and verifying probabilistic outputs with golden sets and accuracy scorecards.
Error monitoring / observability tooling (e.g. Sentry, Grafana) as a signal source for quality. Responsibilities
Build and maintain E2E test suites for web (Playwright) and mobile (Detox or a practical equivalent).
Write API/integration tests against backend services in both TypeScript and Python (pytest); drive event scenarios with scripted payloads (back-dated events, malformed inputs, bursts).
Design end-to-end scenarios that trace a single event from device/edge payload → ingestion/normalization → alert aggregation → operator UI (web + mobile).
Verify real-time UI behavior: WebSocket/SSE reconnection, event ordering, de-duplication, and correct state under bursty streams.
Verify pipeline data directly in PostgreSQL against expected results.
Run sustained load tests (bursts up to ~10K events/min) and assert latency targets (p95 evaluation latency budgets). Our load-testing stack is Artillery.io; k6/Locust experience transfers.
Execute failure-mode tests: service/dependency failure, network loss, reconnect storms verify graceful degradation.
Verify tenant isolation: no cross-tenant data, rules, labels, or alerts leak between clients.
Build regression harnesses with golden/expected outputs and accuracy scorecards for AI-driven features.
Own the pre-deployment regression pass. Your suite starts as a non-blocking CI signal and becomes the blocking gate for staging promotion once proven.
Integrate tests into CI/CD (GitHub Actions); keep the suite fast, stable, and trustworthy quarantine and fix flaky tests. Please include GDPR consent
