We are hiring a Senior Backend Python Engineer for an innovative technology company building AI-powered enterprise software used by organizations worldwide.

This role is ideal for an experienced backend engineer who enjoys designing scalable production systems, solving complex technical challenges, and taking ownership of critical backend services from architecture through production. You’ll work closely with product, frontend, and platform engineers to build reliable, secure, and high-performance applications while leveraging modern AI-assisted engineering practices.

As a Senior Backend Python Engineer you will provide backend development, system design, cloud infrastructure, and technical leadership in a fast-paced engineering environment where ownership and continuous improvement are highly valued.

Requirements

checked icon 6+ years of experience building and maintaining production-grade backend systems
checked icon Strong hands-on experience with Python and modern backend development practices
checked icon Strong understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, asynchronous processing, and scalable architectures
checked icon Experience designing and developing REST APIs and backend services
checked icon Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
checked icon Strong knowledge of database design, performance optimization, and high-throughput applications
checked icon Experience building secure, reliable enterprise applications with a security-first mindset
checked icon Ability to own projects from technical design through deployment and production support
checked icon Experience working closely with cross-functional engineering and product teams
checked icon Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills
checked icon Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
checked icon Improve engineering leverage with AI tooling, automation, and internal workflows rather than using AI as a gimmick

Responsibilities

checked icon Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and asynchronous processing systems
checked icon Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions and scalable system designs
checked icon Own services throughout their lifecycle, including deployment, monitoring, reliability, and continuous improvement
checked icon Design efficient data models and optimize database performance for production workloads
checked icon Collaborate with product, frontend, and platform teams to deliver end-to-end features
checked icon Improve engineering productivity through automation and AI-assisted development workflows
checked icon Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical decision-making
checked icon Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions to ensure production reliability
checked icon Continuously improve system scalability, performance, security, and maintainability
checked icon Contribute to engineering best practices and knowledge sharing across the team
