Typical duties and responsibilities

3. Optimize infrastructure for scalability and performance.
4. Collaborate with development teams to integrate and deploy code changes efficiently.
5. Manage server configurations and ensure system security compliance.
6. Maintain and enhance tools for automation and infrastructure management.
7. Provide support for production environments, addressing any operational issues.
8. Develop and manage infrastructure for large-scale software systems.
9. Implement and manage monitoring and alerting solutions to track system health.
10. Ensure proper documentation of processes, configurations, and changes.

Required skills and experience

• Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Strong scripting skills in languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or Ansible.
• Understanding of monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack.
• Ability to manage and configure servers, including Linux and Windows environments.
• Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, and VPNs.

Nice to have/preferred skills and experience (not required)

• Experience with serverless computing frameworks like AWS Lambda or Azure Functions.
• Familiarity with security best practices and tools like Vault or AWS IAM.
• Knowledge of database management and optimization, including SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with logging and alerting tools such as Splunk or CloudWatch.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in Scrum or Kanban environments.
• Proficiency with configuration management tools like Chef or Puppet.
• Familiarity with load balancing, auto-scaling, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Experience in automating infrastructure tasks using CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of hybrid cloud environments and multi-cloud strategies.
• Experience in supporting development teams with continuous integration and automated testing.
