Siden, a US entertainment technology company specializing in intelligent caching and in-transit video delivery, partnered with DevsData LLC to expand its engineering capacity in Europe. The company was preparing several new feature releases for its content optimization platform, including improved data processing modules, real-time performance monitoring, and enhanced API integrations for airline and cruise partners. To support these initiatives, Siden needed to strengthen its software development team and scale its infrastructure to handle growing product demands.
We successfully hired three senior software engineers from Romania within three months. Each new team member brought deep technical expertise and strong communication skills, along with proven experience in distributed systems and large-scale platforms. Their integration helped Siden accelerate product development, improve performance, and strengthen the scalability of its intelligent caching platform.
Siden is an intelligent caching platform that improves how passengers access entertainment during travel. It enables airlines and cruise lines to personalize in-transit experiences by offering passengers access to content from familiar streaming platforms such as Netflix, YouTube, and other major providers.
Its technology operates through an automated system that optimizes network bandwidth while maintaining high-quality video delivery. By combining intelligent caching with data-driven optimization, Siden helps travel and hospitality providers deliver engaging entertainment experiences without placing additional strain on connectivity resources.
Headquartered in the United States, Siden employs over 50 professionals and generates approximately five million dollars in annual revenue. The company continues to expand its presence as a technology partner for the global travel and entertainment industries.
Siden partnered with DevsData LLC to recruit experienced software engineers in Central and Eastern Europe, with a primary focus on Poland and Romania. These locations were selected for their strong software engineering communities, favorable cost-to-skill ratio, and working hours compatible with Siden’s US-based leadership. The goal was to strengthen its product development and data engineering capacity with senior professionals capable of working in a distributed environment.
The project involved senior backend and full stack engineering roles that required expertise in technologies like Python and Node.js, as well as cloud experience with AWS. Although titled senior software engineers, the roles focused on backend, full stack, and DevOps areas. Candidates also needed a background in distributed systems and strong collaboration skills to work effectively with Siden’s international teams.
All three final hires were located in Romania, and the recruitment was completed within three months.
We managed the entire process, from defining technical requirements and sourcing candidates to conducting technical assessments and supporting onboarding, ensuring an efficient and transparent experience throughout.
Recruiting senior software engineers for Siden’s domain was a demanding task. The company operates in an area that combines entertainment technology with advanced cloud infrastructure for intelligent travel applications. Professionals with experience in these fields are not widely available, making the required skill set particularly rare.
Siden needed engineers with strong technical backgrounds in distributed systems and large-scale cloud environments, along with experience working across borders with international teams. Although all hires joined as senior software engineers, each focused on a different area of specialization: backend, full stack, and DevOps.
The senior backend engineer role required advanced knowledge of Python and Node.js, together with practical experience in microservices and API optimization. The full stack engineer position emphasized expertise in React and modern JavaScript frameworks, along with backend development skills in Node.js and Python for developing scalable, high-performance systems. The DevOps engineer role focused on AWS-based infrastructure management and CI/CD automation using containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
The competitive market in Poland and Romania added to the challenge, as many senior developers already had multiple offers from international companies. Balancing technical depth with strong communication ability and cultural alignment within a short timeframe required a precise and well-structured approach.
We combined strong recruitment expertise with technical evaluation capability, supported by extensive cross-border experience. The engagement was structured under a success fee model, meaning Siden paid only after a hire was made. This arrangement minimized financial risk and aligned both sides toward practical results.
Our technical evaluations are conducted by senior engineers with practical industry experience, allowing a reliable assessment of programming ability, system design, problem-solving skills, communication, and collaboration. This approach helped us select only those candidates capable of contributing effectively in a distributed, fast-paced environment.
Our proprietary database of over 95000 vetted professionals provided access to a diverse network of experienced engineers across Europe. From our experience with similar projects, and supported by our knowledge of local markets and salary structures across Eastern Europe, we identified top candidates who aligned with Siden’s technical requirements and culture. We also provided a guarantee period for each hire, offering free replacement if a candidate did not continue. This reflected our commitment to long-term client satisfaction and accountability.
To meet Siden’s hiring goals within a short timeframe, we designed a recruitment strategy that balanced precision, transparency, and speed. We began by mapping out the required skills and priorities with Siden’s engineering leaders. Then, we targeted senior candidates across Poland and Romania through our internal database and regional networks, maintaining close coordination and weekly feedback loops throughout the process.
We met with Siden’s technical leadership to define detailed role expectations, required competencies, and working conditions. Together, we outlined key technical areas that included cloud infrastructure and backend optimization, as well as effective team collaboration across regions. Setting clear expectations at this stage ensured that our search was focused from the start.
We directed our efforts toward Poland and Romania, where Siden could access a large pool of highly skilled engineers with strong English proficiency and relevant experience. Using our internal database and professional networks, including GitHub and LinkedIn communities for senior engineers in Central and Eastern Europe, we contacted candidates who matched both the technical profile and the cultural fit Siden required. Our regional recruitment approach mirrored similar success in collaborations with companies such as Paysera, where DevsData LLC supported the company in expanding its engineering teams across Europe.
Every shortlisted candidate participated in a rigorous 90-minute live technical interview led by our senior engineers. This session evaluated not only coding ability but also problem-solving, system design, and communication. Candidates were also assessed for adaptability, as Siden’s development environment required close coordination with teams across different regions.
Throughout the recruitment process, we maintained open communication with Siden, providing weekly updates, feedback summaries, and adjusting sourcing priorities as needed. We also discussed salary expectations and contract structures with each candidate early on to ensure complete clarity and avoid potential negotiation issues later.
The recruitment process took three months from initial consultation to accepted offers. During the first stage, we sourced and screened more than one hundred professionals across Poland and Romania. From this pool, twenty were shortlisted based on technical and communication standards.
Following technical interviews and client evaluations, five candidates advanced to final discussions with Siden’s engineering leadership. Ultimately, three offers were extended and accepted, all for senior software engineer positions, with all hires joining from Romania.
After the signing stage, we supported Siden with onboarding logistics, documentation, and follow-up checks during the first month of employment. The engineers quickly integrated into the existing development team, taking ownership of modules related to API optimization, data processing, and performance monitoring.
The cooperation remained positive throughout, and all three engineers continued to perform strongly after joining Siden’s projects.
Filling all three roles within the planned three-month period allowed Siden to stay on schedule with product development and prevent release delays. The new engineers expanded the company’s technical capacity, which led to faster progress on new features and more stable system performance.
Beyond the immediate outcome, the cooperation gave Siden a clear structure for growing its European team. The company gained a better understanding of regional talent availability, salary expectations, and effective ways to manage remote collaboration. This experience now serves as a foundation for future hiring in other European locations.
The project also showed that an organized and transparent recruitment process can attract skilled engineers even in competitive markets, contributing to a high offer acceptance rate and lasting retention.
Within three months, we recruited three senior software engineers from Romania who became key contributors to Siden’s core engineering team. Each hire met performance goals during the evaluation period and received positive feedback from both management and peers.
The new team members improved API efficiency, stabilized backend processes, and enhanced data reliability across Siden’s platform. Their contributions helped shorten release cycles and increase product stability, directly supporting Siden’s roadmap for upcoming feature launches.
The project achieved a 100% offer acceptance rate and recorded zero instances of early attrition. The outcome demonstrated that with clear structure, technical precision, and proactive communication, high-quality engineers can be secured even in competitive European markets.
