We’re looking for a Head of Platform Engineering for an international fintech startup on a mission to protect and grow its clients’ life savings. The company was founded to address two of the biggest issues with Bitcoin adoption: accessibility and security. In a matter of years, they developed an industry-leading platform that introduced cryptocurrency into the daily lives of millions worldwide.

Head of Platform Engineering would build and lead a new team of Platform Engineering. The company’s cloud-native application platform automates infrastructure provisioning and configuration, dynamically allocating and reallocating resources at deploy time based on the needs of the application. Building on a cloud-native runtime optimizes application life-cycle management, including scaling to meet demand, resource utilization, orchestration across available resources, and recovery from failures with minimum downtime.

  • Experience with designing the infrastructure for high availability
  • Strong experience with one of main cloud providers like AWS, Google Cloud, Azure (we use AWS)
  • Recent hands-on DevOps experience, ideally in addition to recent software development experience
  • 9 years of experience minimum
  • Recent managerial experience
  • Strong understanding of the foundations of security & best practices
  • Designed software and/or platforms used by other developers, and have supported those developers with the adoption of these solutions
  • Extensive experience of running platforms within a DevOps organization – delivering and operating a DevOps toolchain and automation are essential
  • Strong and demonstrable experience in developing a CI/CD pipeline and supporting technologies
  • Experience integrating with third-party SaaS providers and a demonstrable understanding of when we should buy vs build
  • Stays abreast of current technology developments and has demonstrated the ability to retain competitive advantage by implementing relevant technologies in software products
